📖 Overview

Multirotor motors are designated by standard dimensions (e.g. 2207, 2306) representing stator diameter and height in millimeters. Stator volume serves as a direct proxy for active magnetic material and copper volume, indicating motor torque capacity and performance.

💡 Key Insights

• The Stator Formula: Volume = π × (Diameter / 2)² × Height. Because diameter is squared, diameter increases yield larger volume gains than height increases.
• Aspect Ratio: Wider stators (e.g. 2306) provide faster response/spool-up, while taller stators (e.g. 2207) provide higher top-end thermal mass and efficiency.
• Weight Estimation: Motor weights are estimated via statistical averages: Weight ≈ 2.0g + 0.0098 × Volume.
